FAQs

Please read our responses to frequently asked questions in relation to our painting holidays in Greece. Should you require answers to other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us with your enquiry. Just click on the Contact Us tab.

Q1. What if I am a complete beginner with no previous art experience?

Not a problem! No previous artistic experience is required to join our painting holidays. All that is required is some patience and a willingness to learn and be guided by our highly talented tutor. They will help you in selecting the medium/s and subjects that are more at your level. So, there is no need to worry.

Q2. How long will I be painting each day?

We will be painting for up to three hours each day at different hand picked locations.  This allows everyone time to relax, socialise and sightsee.

Q3. Will I learn different painting techniques?

Yes. Our aim is for everyone to practice each day and improve their art skills by learning different techniques when creating their own artwork.

Q4. How do I book a painting holiday?

Go to the Book Now page and scroll down the page and complete the Booking Form, then click on the Submit button. Once this is done, click the Make Payment button directly underneath, which will take you to our payment platform for you to make a secure payment. To secure your painting holiday booking, a $300 AUD deposit payment must be made for a single or shared ensuite room. You will then receive an email confirmation.

Remember, if you book early, you will save $100 AUD on the total painting holiday cost.

Q5. What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay online using either credit card or via Paypal. We can accept bank transfers, if requested in writing via email.

Q6. How much deposit do I pay?

All painting holidays in Greece require a 10% deposit of $389 AUD per person, per holiday for a single room ($347 AUD for a shared room). (Must Sea Greece is an Australian registered business). All deposits are non refundable. However, if you need to cancel your holiday, your deposit is held in credit for up to two years. We will need a prior email requesting this.

Q7. When do I pay the Final Balance?

Your final balance is due at least 90 days before your painting holiday in Greece starts.

Q8. Does the price quoted include everything?

All painting holidays in Greece require a $300 AUD deposit per person, per holiday for a single or shared ensuite room. Lunch meals each day are not included and are to be paid by each guest based on their preferred meal choice. We have purposely avoided offering sit down lunch meals, to provide guests with lighter lunch options and more free time for sightseeing. The cost of getting to/from Greece are not included. Please note that group dinners only include one meal and one alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink. Admission tickets for entry into historical monuments or attractions we are visiting are included in the fees paid. The only exception being entry into The Acropolis in Lindos, Rhodes, although visiting this site is not compulsory.

Q9. When do I arrive?

You need to arrive on the date specified for your selected painting holiday in Greece. Your arrival date is always Sunday. You should aim to arrive at your Greece destination, ideally by 4pm on Sunday afternoon. This will then give you enough time to check into your accommodation and then meet us for welcome drinks at 5.30pm.

Q10. What if I am going to be late on the arrival date for my Greece holiday?

That is not a problem, but please let us know if you don’t think you will be at your accommodation by 4pm on the Sunday. We will then help you make whatever arrangements we can for you.

Q11. When booking my flights to Greece, do I need to check with you first?

Yes, you definitely need to check with us to ensure that the painting holiday will go ahead. All of our painting holidays require a minimum of 4 fully paid participants to proceed. So, please do not book any flights without speaking to us first.

Q12. Can you book my flights for me?

Unfortunately, we are unable to book flights for you, as we are not a registered Travel Agency. However, we are able to assist you in the booking of your flights. We recommend you book your flights with Skyscanner at www.skyscanner.com

Q13. How do I get from the Airport to my accommodation?

Our painting holiday destinations are selected on the basis of having reliable and regular public bus transport, from the airport to your accommodation. Once you leave the Airport terminal you just follow the signs for the local bus to the city centre, which on average takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Otherwise, you can take a local taxi (at your own expense). If you prefer to have a private transfer from the airport to your accommodation, then we can arrange this for you, at an extra cost.

Q14. When do I leave?

All of our painting holidays in Greece end on the following Sunday morning after breakfast. Check out from your accommodation is usually by 11.00am. This will give you enough time to travel to the airport to catch your flight back home or to your next destination.

Q15. Can you deal with special dietary requirements?

We offer group dinner meals with a meat or vegetarian option. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate for specific individual diets or dietary specifics such as celiac, gluten free, keto, pescatarian, specific allergies or any other diet, which requires special meals. If you have very specific dietary requirements, please contact us prior to booking to see how and if we can help you in this regard.

Q16. I have limited mobility, will I still be able to take part?

As a general rule, you will need to be able to walk for at least 20 minutes (at a time) at a regular pace and climb two flights of stairs, without rails, a walking aid or personal assistance and without it being strenuous. Unfortunately, our painting holidays are not suitable for disabled customers and/or guests with special needs who may or may not be in wheelchairs.

Q17. What do I do if I need to cancel my holiday?

Please advise us in writing by email as soon as possible, if you need to cancel your painting holiday and the reason why. The deposit paid is non-refundable, but will be held in credit for up to 24 months.

Q18. Can I bring my non-painting partner, family member or friend?

Unfortunately, our painting holidays do not cater for non-painters. In the past, we have found that the dynamics of the holiday can change somewhat when all participants are not there for the same purpose.

Q19. Can I stay extra nights?

If you wish to stay extra nights either before or after the painting holiday you will need to find accommodation at another hotel nearby. Unfortunately, the hotels we have booked are only available for the duration of our painting holidays.

Q20. When do you send me directions to the hotel or accommodation?

These are emailed to you once the final balance has been paid.

Q21. What is the weather like and what clothing should I bring?

The climate during our painting holidays in September and October is generally very comfortable for walking, sightseeing and painting. It is not the hot season. You can expect weather to be between 18 to 26c (70-80F), on average. In terms of clothing, you need to pack art clothes, as well as nicer clothes for dining out. Pack some cool weather clothes for evenings and early mornings. A rain/wind jacket is a good addition to bring. Sturdy and comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended, as there are lots of lovely walks possible in the areas we will be visiting. Please also remember to bring a hat and sunscreen.

Q22. What if I get sick during my painting holiday?

By taking out your own comprehensive travel insurance you will be covered. Make sure your insurance policy covers for medical expenses and any cancellation fees. Travel insurance is compulsory when participating in our painting holidays. Our tutor will have a First Aid kit with them and we are aware of the local medical services available, should the need arise during your painting holiday. A copy of your personal travel insurance must be emailed to us prior to your arrival.

Q23. What type of accommodation will I be staying in?

The hotels, apartments and/or studios we select for our painting holidays have been carefully assessed to ensure that they are comfortable, clean, affordable and in a central location close to all amenities. Our focus is on providing ‘value for money’ accommodation, as opposed to luxury accommodation. Please note that rooms in European countries like Greece are usually smaller than those available in countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States.

Q24. Will I have my own private bathroom?

Yes, you will. All the rooms selected have their own ensuite bathroom. The only time you would be sharing a bathroom, is if you are sharing a room with a friend or family member accompanying you on our painting holiday.

Q25. Do I need to bring any euros in cash?

Yes, as some shops or transport (like taxis) may not accept credit, debit or travel cards.

Q26. Will I have time to shop for gifts or presents for myself and family?

Of course you will. The accommodation we will be staying in has plenty of interesting shops very close by, which you can walk to easily during your free time.

Q27. Do I need to bring any art materials or equipment?

All art materials are provided and included in our costs. You are welcome to bring your own as well, but please keep in mind you will be responsible for carrying them on a daily basis. We do not supply portable easels, as it is not a requirement for our painting holidays. However, you can bring your own.

Q28. Can my child participate in the painting holiday?

Yes, but they must be at least 16 years of age and booked into our painting holiday as a paying guest. Our program does not cater for younger children.

Q29. Will I have free time to walk around and explore the areas we are visiting during the painting holiday?

Yes you will. Time has been set aside in our program for sightseeing in each of the towns, villages, sites and/or grounds we are visiting.

Q30. Who do I contact if there is an emergency or I need urgent help while travelling to or in Greece?

Your tutor will create a WhatsApp group for all guests prior to departing for Greece to share information about the painting holiday, but also for participants that may require assistance. Our Must Sea Greece office will also be part of this WhatsApp group, to ensure we can respond quickly to any issues that may emerge, just in case our tutor is in transit or unreachable.
